Milk and Cookies: Beginning Monday, August 23, buy an afternoon snack for only $1 and help support the 8th grade Science Camp fundraiser every Monday-Wednesday-Friday.

Heritage K-8 Uniform Policy: Page 26 of the Student/Parent Handbook reads: Jewelry will not be excessive or a potential weapon or distraction. Only one bracelet and one necklace may be worn at a time. This includes snap bands, which if confiscated, will not be returned.

Otter Pops: Cool off for only 25 cents after school starting Monday, August 23, continuing every day next week.

Taco Tuesdays: Buy a taco, fruit snack, and drink for only $3 beginning Tuesday, August 24. Add a second taco for only $1.

4th-8th Grade Robotics Information Meeting: Please join Robotics coordinator, Dave Tarr, in the Multi-Purpose Room on Tuesday, August 24, at 6:30p.m for details about this exciting and challenging program. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Dave at dtarr@echs.org.

School Pictures: Pictures will be taken on Wednesday, August 25. It is a FREE DRESS DAY. Please follow dress code policies.

Pizza Fridays: Buy a piece of pizza, fruit snack, and a drink for only $3 beginning Friday, August 27. Each additional piece is only $1.

Mission Fed’s Mission to $ave: Students can sign up for Mission Federal’s savings program Friday, August 27, between 7:30a.m.-7:55a.m.

Martial Arts Class: Three day a week program - Monday, Wednesday, Saturday beginning Wednesday, September 1. $60 per month. Heritage students will meet from 3:00p.m. to 3:45p.m. weekdays and 10:30a.m. to 11:a.m. Saturdays; high school and adult students will meet 4p.m. to 5p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 11a.m. to 12p.m. on Saturdays. After School Music Classes for 4th-8th Graders: FREE CLASSES! Glee Club begins Thursday, September 2, from 2:45-3:45 and Instrumental Class begins Monday, September 13, from 2:45-3:45. For more information, email Mrs. Guthrie at pguthrie@echs.org.

Used Uniform Shop: The shop will be open the 1st Wednesday of every month at 2:30p.m. starting Wednesday, September 8.

Library: If you would like to volunteer in the Library or help fund raise for incentive programs, please contact Jami Baar at jamibaar@cox.net. Please note all volunteers must have completed paperwork on file in the office before working with the students.

Prescription Drug Task Force: Deputy District Attorney, Matt Williams, will present important and potentially life-saving information to parents, especially parents of preteens and teens, on Tuesday, September 21, in the American Spirit Theater, at 6:30p.m. Learn about “pharm parties,” Oxycontin, and the prevalence of prescription drug abuse among the “good kids from good neighborhoods” in San Diego County.

Volunteer Opportunity: The Used Uniform Shop has some uniform pants that have holes in the knees. If you can sew and have time to make them into shorts, please contact Jo Ashley at 760-741-2560. There are also a couple of sweatshirts that need seams mended. Many thanks to everyone who has donated their children’s outgrown uniforms to the shop. And many, many thanks to Jo Ashley who has donated countless hours to organizing and selling those outgrown uniforms.
Hamburger Wednesdays: Buy a hamburger or cheeseburger, chips, and a drink for only $4 and help raise funds for the 8th grade science camp.

Carpool: – Rancho San Pasqual Community. Looking for other families interested in carpooling from the Rancho San Pasqual Community. Please contact Laura at 760-781-3379 or geistfamily@cox.net.

Electronics/Technology Recycling: Raise funds for our classroom document cameras/LCD projectors by recycling the following items: scientific and graphing calculators, PDAs/Palm Pilots (include accessories), IPods (include accessories), cell phones, video games (include cases), video game consoles (include accessories), Brand name inkjet and laser cartridges, digital cameras, laptops (include power cords), and DVDs (original packaging). Just bring them to the front office.

Gently Used or New Donations Needed: Two small microwave ovens (new), two compact refrigerators, and two DVD players. Please contact the front office for more details.

Homework Stars: Congratulations to Homework Stars: Nathan Carroll and Gialong Tonthat in Mrs. McKay’s 4th grade class; 5th graders, Collin Shore and Shaye Sardon in Mrs. Patronik’s class. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing.
