Help for Haiti: Thank you Heritage students and families! The coins, cash, and checks have been counted, and over $950 was collected for Haitian earthquake victims.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade Progress Reports: Grading period for Kindergarten through 3rd grades ends March 19, and progress reports will be distributed March 22.

Cell Phone Recycling Contest: We only need 10 more cell phones to reach our goal of 100. The class that collects the most cell phones will win $50! Miss Ochosa’s 3rd grade class is currently in the lead with 38 phones collected!

Yearbook Student Shout Outs: Leadership Class will be selling Student Shout Out Ads during the lunch period Tuesday, March 2 to Friday, March 5.

Last Day to Buy a Yearbook Ad: Parents, students, business - the last day to buy your ads for The Roar is
Friday, March 5. Forms are available in the front office.

Used Uniform Store: The used uniform store, located across the hall from the library, will now be open on the 1st Wednesday of each month beginning March 3. It will be open immediately after the 2:40 p.m. bell until approximately 3:00 p.m.

Library News: Happy Birthday to Marie Roman and thank you to her family for celebrating her special day with a Library Book donation. If you would like to celebrate a special occasion by donating a new book to the library, pick up a form in the office.

High School Robotics Competition: The ECHS robotics team, the Daedalus Project, will be competing in the San Diego Regional FIRST Robotics Competition on Friday and Saturday, March 5 and 6. The tournament will be held at the San Diego Sports Arena from 9a.m.-6p.m. both days. Come and see 50 robotics teams from around the country battling it out. Visit the pit area and speak with team members. The event is free, and parking is free

Flower Power Fundraising for HK8 Gardening: A beautiful and easy way to raise funds for the Heritage Gardening Program. Donate “Gently” Used Books: We are planning a used book sale for Family Fun Day. Now is the time to clean off those overcrowded bookshelves. Children’s books, novels, nonfiction, cook books, poetry...we can use them all! Please bring your donations to the front office. Thanks!

ECHS Cheer Clinic for HK8 Students: Learn the moves from the ECHS Cheerleaders March 2, 3, 4. The clinic will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room from 3:15p.m.-4:45p.m., and the cost is $25 with checks made payable to AMHEF. Applications are available in the front office.

HK8 Lottery: If you have a student with a sibling who wants to attend Heritage K-8 next year, please ensure your student is on the appropriate lottery list and is noted as the sibling of a currently enrolled student. To do this, please submit an application to the ECHS main office by March 3, 2010.

Talent Show Auditions: Auditions for the 1st Annual Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 25 (a minimum day) from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. We are looking for a wide variety of talented performers including singers, musicians, dance routines, magic acts, jugglers, group skits, and much more! Homework Stars: Congratulations to Homework Stars: Shawn Kouri in Mrs. Seavello’s kindergarten class; Mrs. McKay’s 4th graders, Colin Shore and Michael Megna; Ms. Nester’s 4th grader, Daniel Estrada; and Amanda Gross in Mrs. Patronik’s 5th grade class. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing.

Family Fun Day: Mark you calendars - Family Fun Day is Saturday, May 1, 2-7p.m., HK8 playground.
