*NO SCHOOL - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12 & MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15*

Hamburger Wednesdays: We listened and invite your student to try the new and improved 1/4 lb. gourmet hamburgers and cheeseburgers, but we’ve raised the price to $4. The meal includes a 1/4 lb. hamburger (with or without cheese), chips, and drink. $2 for each additional burger.

Help for Haiti: Robby Chumbley and his 5th grade class hope to raise $500 to send to the earthquake victims in Haiti. Donated funds will be sent to Direct Relief International, who pledge to give 100% of the money to the people who need it. The fund drive ends February 19.

Junior High Neon Dance: All HK8 and HDA 7th and 8th grade students are invited to the Neon Dance on Friday, February 19, in the Multi-Purpose Room from 5 to 7p.m. Tickets will be on sale starting February 16 and are $4 in advance and $5 at the door.

Flower Power Fundraising for HK8 Gardening: A beautiful and easy way to raise funds for the Heritage Gardening Program. Just go online to http://www.flowerpowerfundraising.com/campaign?campaign_id=1099 for all your gardening and gift needs. 50% of your purchase goes to the Heritage Gardening Program.

Parents’ Night Out: Parents, would you enjoy a night out alone with your special someone? Maybe dinner and a movie? Or a romantic walk along the beach? Drop your children off on Friday, February 26, from 6 to 10p.m. in the Heritage K-8 Multi-Purpose Room for pizza, games, and a movie. Chaperones will be Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Lund, and Mrs. Blake. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 per additional sibling. Fliers are available in the front office or email Mrs. Lund for more information at slund@echs.org.

Donate “Gently” Used Books: We are planning a used book sale for Family Fun Day. Now is the time to clean off those overcrowded bookshelves. Children’s books, novels, nonfiction, cook books, poetry...we can use them all! Please bring your donations to the front office. Thanks!

ECHS Cheer Clinic for HK8 Students: Learn the moves from the ECHS Cheerleaders March 2, 3, 4. The clinic will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room from 3:15p.m.-4:45p.m., and the cost is $25 with checks made payable to AMHEF. Applications are available in the front office.

HK8 Lottery: If you have a student with a sibling who wants to attend Heritage K-8 next year, please ensure your student is on the appropriate lottery list and is noted as the sibling of a currently enrolled student. To do this, please submit an application to the ECHS main office by March 3, 2010.

Yearbook Ads & PDA’s: The deadline for placing your ad or PDA is Friday, March 5. If you need help writing or designing your ad or PDA, Mrs. Mellor and Mr. Segel will be on campus every Friday after school during the month of February.

Heritage Spirit T-Shirts: On sale in the front office. Short sleeves are $15 and long sleeves $20. Heritage Spirit Shirts may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms.

Donations Needed: We are in need of two desktop computers (tower and flat screen monitor) to support our LCD projectors for use in the classrooms and a sturdy 3 or 4 shelf bookcase for the front office. We could also use some rainy day games and activities for lunch time play in the classroom. (Ex: nerf balls, board games…)

Talent Show Auditions: Auditions for the 1st Annual Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 25 (a minimum day) from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. We are looking for a wide variety of talented performers including singers, musicians, dance routines, magic acts, jugglers, group skits, and much more! Fliers will be available this coming week. The talent show will take place

at the American Spirit Theater on Friday, May 21. For more information, please contact Pam Dawson at 760-480-9521 or Stephanie Boren at 760-739-8332.
