Thanks for Your Support: The Megna Family would like to thank the Heritage community for all the love and support that has been given them since Mike’s heart attack. Please feel free to catch up on his progress by visiting his web site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaelmegna.

Charger Spirit Fridays: Students may wear their Chargers logo tops with uniform bottoms on Fridays the weeks the Chargers are playing until the Super Bowl.

Milk at Lunch: The 8th Grade will be selling cartons of fresh milk for just 50 cents at lunch beginning Wednesday, January 20. Milk will be available every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday through the end of March to raise funds for their science camp.

Heritage K-8 Yearbooks: You still have time to purchase the 2009/2010 edition of “The Roar” for $23. Order forms are available in the front office or online at www.heritageyearbook.com. Quantities are limited and there is a possibility that they may sell out. PDA’s (3 lines typed) are available for $5.

Heritage Spirit T-Shirts: On sale in the front office. Short sleeves are $15 and long sleeves $20. Heritage Spirit Shirts may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms.

Jump Rope Club: Jump Rope Club will resume on February 1 in the MPR on Mondays from 2:45p.m. to 3:45p.m. 13 classes for $104. Applications are available in the front office or on the HK8 website.

Donations Needed: We are in need of three desktop computers (tower and flat screen monitor) to support our LCD projectors for use in the classrooms and a sturdy 3 or 4 shelf bookcase for the front office.

Campbell’s Labels Contest: Your enthusiastic response to our request for labels produced incredible results!
1,624 labels were turned in and Miss Lavage’s 1st graders and Mrs. Patronik’s 5th graders tied for 1st place with 290 each. They’ve won a Free Dress Day on Thursday, January 28. The labels will be redeemed for a portable PA system and DVD’s and videos for classroom use. Thank you, Heritage Families!

After School Music Classes: Mrs. Guthrie has announced that Guitar (Mondays), Singing (Wednesdays), and Instrument (Thursdays) classes will resume in February.

Family Fun Day: Family Fun Day is Saturday, May 1. The Family Fun Day Committee is seeking classroom coordinators. If interested, please contact your student's teacher.

Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show: Auditions for the 1st Annual Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 25 (a minimum day) from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. We are looking for a wide variety of talented performers including singers, musicians, dance routines, magic acts, jugglers, group skits, and much more! Fliers will be available this coming week. YMCA Childcare: The YMCA offers Heritage parents quality, state licensed, before- and after-school childcare for students in grades kindergarten through fifth. For more information, call 760-745-7490.

Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are Ryan Martinez in Mrs. Curley’s 1st grade class, Roberto Cazares and Cole Hallie in Mrs. Kajita’s 2nd grade, Miss Nester’s 4th grader Kyle Depew, and 5th grader Nicholas Cabalbag in Mrs. Patronik’s class. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing.


Lottery 2010-2011: If you have a kindergartener or sibling that would like to attend Heritage K-8 next school year, sign ups for the lottery have begun and will continue until the close of business on March 3, 2010. Sign ups are being accepted at Escondido Charter High School’s Main Office. When signing up kindergartners, please bring their birth certificate.
