Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes MINIMUM DAY - THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17 - 12PM DISMISSAL *****NO SCHOOL - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18***** Sounds of the Season Concert: Congratulations! and Thank You! to our
music teacher, Patty Guthrie, for inspiring and leading our students in
the holiday concert. We have amazing and talented students, and Mrs. Guthrie
brought out their best last night! And a special thank you to Andrea Baldwin
for organizing the decorations and to Annette Morton, Sally Stevenson,
Kari Coe, and many others who turned the high school gym into a holiday
scene of color and light. Heritage Spirit T-Shirts: On sale in the front office. Short sleeves are $15 and long sleeves $20. Heritage Spirit Shirts may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms. American Sign Language Class: Open to 6th-8th grade students (and parents if space is available). Classes will be held Tuesdays, 3-4p.m., January 13-March 16, at Heritage Digital Academy. Cost is $100 plus $10 for book (optional). Flyers and applications are in the front office or contact Michelle Perez at perez@tmail.com for more information. Important Note: Be sure to type “ASL” in the subject line of your email. Lost & Found: The Lost & Found (by the cold drink machine) is overflowing with students’ uniform pieces. If your student is missing any clothing, please take a minute to see if it’s there. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity. Beat the Yearbook Price Increase: Yearbooks can be ordered for only $20 until December 17. After that, the prices goes up to $23. Order forms are available in the front office or online at www.heritageyearbook.com Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show: Announcing the 1st Annual Heritage K8/Digital Academy Talent Show! Auditions will be held on Thursday, March 25 (a minimum day) from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. We are looking for a wide variety of talented performers including singers, musicians, dance routines, magic acts, jugglers, group skits, and much more! Dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. The talent show will take place at the American Spirit Theater on Friday, May 21. YMCA Childcare: The YMCA offers Heritage parents quality, state licensed, before- and after-school childcare for students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are June Robertson and Aidan Land from Mrs. Cook’s 3rd grade class, Danny Phillips from Miss Ochosa’s 3rd grade class, and Magnus Chapman from Miss. Nester’s 4th grade class. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing. Fresh and Easy: For every $20 spent at our local Fresh and Easy Store, between September 15, 2009 and December 31, 2009, our school will receive a $1 cash donation. Just turn in your receipts (of $20 or more) to the front office. The more you spend, the more money you can raise for our school. Lottery 2010-2011: If you have a Kindergartener or sibling that would like to attend Heritage K-8 next school year, sign ups for the lottery have begun and will continue until the close of business on March 3, 2010. Sign ups are being excepted at Escondido Charter High School’s Main Office. When signing up Kindergartners, please bring their birth certificate. Uniforms: As the weather is getting colder, please review our uniform policy and student dress code.
