Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes Holiday Decorations Still Needed: HELP! We still need decorations, trees, etc. for the Sounds of the Season Concert. Coffee for Catalina: After the Sounds of the Season Concert, December 10, enjoy a steaming latte, mocha, or hot chocolate and help the 8th grade students raise funds for their Catalina Science Camp. Julian Apple Crumb Pies: Available after the Sounds of the Season Concert, December 10, or after school on Friday, December 11. Just $15 and proceeds benefit the 8th Grade Science Camp. CASH ONLY PLEASE! Baskin Robbins Fundraiser: Pick up a flyer in the front office and enjoy a frosty cone or ice cream treat at the E. Valley Parkway Baskin Robbins store (located next to Big 5) on Wednesday, December 10, from 3 to 7p.m. A percentage of your purchase will benefit HK8. Charger/HK8 Spirit Day: Students may wear San Diego Charger shirts, an HK8 spirit shirt, or their school uniform shirts to school on Friday, December 11. This is not a free dress day, and all school dress code rules apply. Uniform bottoms (skirts, shorts, skorts, and pants) must be worn. Heritage Spirit T-Shirts: On sale in the front office. Short sleeves are $15, and long sleeves $20. Beginning in December, they may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms. American Sign Language Class: Open to 6th-8th grade students (and parents if space is available). Classes will be held Tuesdays, 3-4p.m., January 13-March 16, at Heritage Digital Academy. Cost is $100 plus $10 for book (optional). Flyers and applications are in the front office or contact Michelle Perez at perez@tmail.com for more information. Heritage Charter K-8/Digital Academy Talent Show: Announcing the 1st Annual Heritage Charter K-8/Digital Academy Talent Show! Auditions will be held on Thursday, March 25 (a minimum day) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. We are looking for a wide variety of talented performers including singers, musicians, dance routines, magic acts, jugglers, group skits, and much more! Dress rehearsal will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. at the American Spirit Theater. The talent show will take place at the American Spirit Theater on Friday, May 21. Campbell’s will give us an additional 2500 Bonus points for classroom and playground equipment. Thank you, Heritage Families! But keep saving those labels; we redeem them all year long. Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are Miss Lavage’s 1st grader, Victoria Hunter; 3rd graders, Juan Leal in Mrs. Cook’s class and Mia Prim in Miss Ochosa’s; and 5th graders Nathan Draper in Mrs. Patronik’s class and Diana Keester in Mrs. Brunn’s. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing. Fresh and Easy: For every $20 spent at our local Fresh and Easy Store, between September 15, 2009 and December 31, 2009, our school will receive a $1 cash donation.
