Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes HK8 Open House/2nd Annual Holiday Gift Faire: Thank you, Heritage families for coming out in droves last night to support our students, staff, and school! It was a night of family fun and holiday spirit. Many thanks to Marcy Colwell and Veronica Farran for the hours they contributed to making the evening such a memorable event. Heritage Spirit T-Shirts: On sale in the front office. Short sleeves are $15, and long sleeves $20. Beginning in December, they may be worn on Fridays with uniform bottoms. Address or Phone Change?: Please notify the front office if you’ve changed addresses or phone numbers since the beginning of the school year. Please bring in any you would like to donate and leave them in the front office for Miss Ackerman. Geoff Galindo Memorial Hockey Tournament: Need some FREE Friday Entertainment? Why not come by the Escondido Sports Center and support your Heritage K8 MS roller hockey team?! Games are at 6:00 and 7:00pm tonight, November 20, 10:00 and 11:30am Saturday. Admission is FREE! Campbell Soup Labels: We’ve collected 1625 points so far but need 2500 before December 31.Check your cupboards now for Campbell Soup Labels! If we turn in 2500 points between October 21 and December, 31, 2009, Campbell’s will give us an additional 2500 Bonus points for classroom and playground equipment. Everyone A Reader: You can help a student become a life-long reader. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to read with students who are not reading at their grade level or need extra support. Our reading tutors will receive a three-hour training and then will come to school for one hour per week during the school day to read with their assigned students. Everyone A Reader is a program designed by the San Diego County Office of Education and is a highly successful and positive way of supporting children in the process of learning to read. Heritage Yearbook: 2009/2010’s The Roar is on sale now! It’s only $17 if you order before November 24. Pick up an order form in the front office or order online at www.heritageyearbook.com. Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are Joshua Kim in Mrs. Kajita’s 2nd grade class, 3rd graders Ethan Mikel in Mrs. Cook’s class and Connor Murphy in Ms. Ochosa’s, and Mrs. McKay’s 4th graders, Mary Stokely and Tyler Sundheimer. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing. Fresh and Easy: For every $20 spent at our local Fresh and Easy Store, between September 15, 2009 and December 31, 2009, our school will receive a $1 cash donation. Just turn in your receipts (of $20 or more) to the front office. The more you spend, the more money you can raise for our school. Coming Events:
