Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes ATTENTION Crafters and Vendors: The 2nd Annual Holiday Gift Faire will be held Thursday, November 19. Contact Marcy Colwell at sparklegal@cox.net for more information. Space still available - only $25/space!Proceeds will benefit Heritage K-8 classrooms. Homefront San Diego: The goal is to help needy families of active duty military personnel during the holidays by providing the essentials for complete meals. Through November 20, Heritage will collect the following donations by grade level: K-2: boxed potatoes and canned gravy; 3-5: boxed stuffing, canned cranberries, and marshmallows; 6-8: canned veggies - corn, green beans, and yams; Faculty: donations to purchase gift certificates for turkeys. Cold Weather Wear: Just in time for the cold weather, long sleeve polos and sweatshirts are available at Top End Tees, 146 E. Grand, Escondido, 760-746-8461. M/T, TH/F 9a.m. to 4p.m.; W 9a.m. to 3p.m. PAB News: The Parent Advisory Board is meeting Tuesday, October 20, at 1:00p.m. at Digital. All parents are welcome to come and join our meetings. If you would like to speak to us about something, please contact Stephanie Boren, ssboren@gmail.com so we can put you on our agenda. We have lots to discuss and limited time. Hairstyling Fundraiser: Call Heritage parent, Nancy Sticka, for an appointment, and she will donate 10% back to the school. Call 760-519-2896 for an appointment. Lost and Found: Please check the Lost and Found (under the central stairway) for your student’s missing uniform items. Heritage Yearbook: 2009/2010’s The Roar is on sale now! It’s only $17 if you order before November 24. Pick up an order form in the front office or order online at www.heritageyearbook.com. Used Uniforms: Our used uniform shop is in need of your students’ gently used uniforms. The office accepts all uniform donations. Donated uniforms are available for purchase for a small fee (usually $1-3). If you would like to purchase used uniforms, you must make an appointment with the front office. Please call (760)737-3111. If the used uniform room is open for business, we will post the sign on the drive thru board. Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are Emilio Heredia in Mrs. Peuker’s kindergarten; Ms. Ochosa’s 3rd grader Luke Ashford; and Akemi Land, Sydney Vargas, and Ajay Vienna, all 1st graders in Ms. Lavage’s class, They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing. Fresh and Easy: For every $20 spent at our local Fresh and Easy Store, between September 15, 2009 and December 31, 2009, our school will receive a $1 cash donation. Just turn in your receipts (of $20 or more) to the front office. The more you spend, the more money you can raise for our school. Coming Events:
