Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes ****NO SCHOOL-MONDAY, OCTOBER 12-COLUMBUS DAY**** Baskin Robbins Fundraiser: Ice Cream Social to benefit Heritage K8 on Wednesday, October 14, 3-7p.m., 1247 E. Valley Parkway. Pick up a flyer in the front office and Baskin will donate 15% of sales back to HK8. ATTENTION Crafters and Vendors: The 2nd Annual Holiday Gift Faire will be held Thursday, November 19. Contact Marcy Colwell at sparklegal@cox.net for more information. Space still available - only $25/space!Proceeds will benefit Heritage K-8 classrooms. Cold Weather Wear: Just in time for the cold weather, long sleeve polos and sweatshirts are available at Top End Tees, 146 E. Grand, Escondido, 760-746-8461. M/T, TH/F 9a.m. to 4p.m.; W 9a.m. to 3p.m. Hairstyling Fundraiser: Call Heritage parent, Nancy Sticka, for an appointment, and she will donate 10% back to the school. Call 760-519-2896 for an appointment. Heritage Yearbook: 2009/2010’s The Roar is on sale now! It’s only $17 if you order before November 24. Pick up an order form in the front office or order online at www.heritageyearbook.com. Cheer Clinic: ECHS Cheerleaders will host their 2nd Annual Cheerleading Clinic October 13-15 from 3:15-4:45p.m. in the Heritage K8 Multi-Purpose Room. The cost of the clinic is $25. If your student is interested in attending, please fill out a Cheer Clinic Form in the front office and make checks payable to AMHEF. Used Uniforms: Our used uniform shop is in need of your students’ gently used uniforms. The office accepts all uniform donations. Donated uniforms are available for purchase for a small fee (usually $1-3). If you would like to purchase used uniforms, you must make an appointment with the front office. Please call (760)737-3111. If the used uniform room is open for business, we will post the sign on the drive thru board. Homework Stars: This week’s "Homework Stars" are 3rd grader Isaac Silva in Mrs. Cook’s class and Tyler Bartlett in Mrs. Lund’s 6th grade class. They each get to pick a book of their choice from the "Homework Star" bookcase. Students who complete all homework assignments for the entire week are entered into a weekly drawing. 7th & 8th Grade Parents: Parent conferences will be held October 29 and 30. This year’s conferences are “student led” to provide greater student accountability for grades and academic performance. Your student will bring home an information sheet on October 9 to review exactly what the student led conferences will entail. Starting the week of October 19, please refer to the Electronic Homework link on the school website for a schedule of available conference times. Fresh and Easy: For every $20 spent at our local Fresh and Easy Store, between September 15, 2009 and December 31, 2009, our school will receive a $1 cash donation. Just turn in your receipts (of $20 or more) to the front office. The more you spend, the more money you can raise for our school. Coming Events:
