Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes Leadership Class: There will be an informational meeting on Monday, August 31 from 3:00-3:45p.m. for all 7th and 8th grade students interested in being a part of a 7th period elective Leadership Class (formerly ASB). Classes will begin meeting September 14 on Mondays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. School Lunches: Take a break from packing lunches and support the Parent Advisory Board’s Taco Tuesdays and Pizza Fridays! Taco menu and prices are: $3 meal includes 1 taco, drink, fruit or fruit cup, and a treat; $4 meal includes 1 extra taco; $5 meal includes 2 extra tacos. (Drinks rotate between milk and juice and treats rotate between chips, cookies, crackers, etc.) Pizza menu and prices are: $3 meal includes 1 slice of pizza, salad with ranch dressing, and a drink. Additional slices of pizza can be purchased for $1 each. ECSD Roller Hockey: Sign ups going on now for the fall middle school (HDA and HK8 6th-8th graders) coed Roller Hockey team! PAB Sponsored ZUMBA!: Zumba is a high energy, Latin-based dance workout with easy to follow steps offering the same benefits as an aerobic workout, only a lot more fun! Flyers are available on the HK8 website or in the front office. Robotics Coaches Wanted: To coach after school robotics teams, grades 4-8. Must be willing to work 2 afternoons a week, Sept.-Nov.; enthusiastic about robotics (or students who love robotics); good with hands-on management; able to attend 2 Sat. tournaments; and ready for lots of fun! $500 stipend available. Gardening News: Thank you to Mrs. Gerardy for volunteering to conduct gardening classes for the K through 4th grades and to Mrs. Gott for volunteering to oversee the proposed shade garden in front of the main office. Special thanks to Mrs. Arsenault for her outstanding efforts in establishing our gardening program and all her hard work in making it flourish over the years.
