Heritage K-8 Charter SchoolHeritage Notes Picture Day: Wednesday, August 26 is School Picture Day. This is a free dress day. All students must follow the school dress code. Otter Pop Sales: Otter Pops will now be sold during lunch on Taco Tuesdays and Pizza Fridays. Sales begin Tuesday, August 25. Leadership Class: There will be an informational meeting on Monday, August 31 from 3:00-3:45 for all 7th and 8th grade students interested in being a part of a 7th period Leadership Elective class. Classes will begin meeting September 14 on Mondays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Visitor and Staff Parking: In order to ease some traffic congestion, we have made a small change to visitor and staff parking. The parking along the back side of Digital Academy is now labeled as “Visitor” parking and the 6 parking spots just north of the “0” period gate are now labeled as “Staff.” This will prevent additional cars from attempting to back out into the traffic line during our very busy afternoons. Crosswalk: We now have a new crosswalk painted from East Valley Pkwy down the east side of Digital Academy to the “0” period gate. The gate located at the southwest corner of the Yum Yum parking lot will now remain locked at all times. Please be sure to stay in the crosswalk at all times to ensure everyone’s safety. Thank you to our families: We would like to thank all of our wonderful Heritage Families for your patience and encouragement during our first 2 weeks of school. Your continued patience is much appreciated. Back to School Apples: Thank you to everyone who supported our teachers and classrooms by taking an apple or two on back to school night. Your generosity is much appreciated by staff and students. School Uniforms: Just a reminder light blue polo shirts are not part of our uniforms this year. Navy, maroon, and white are the acceptable colors of the school polo shirts. Please note a change in the uniform guidelines:In addition to black, navy, and maroon logo uniform sweatshirts, white logo sweatshirts are also allowed and are available at Top End Tees & Apparel, E. 146 Grand Ave. in downtown Escondido, 760-746-8461. Store hours: M, T, TH, F 9a.m.-4p.m. and W 9a.m.- 3p.m. Used Uniforms: Do you have gently used uniforms that your student has outgrown? The front office will take donations of uniforms for resale. All used uniforms will be sold as a fundraiser at a very low cost to our families. Volunteers: All school volunteers are required to have a current TB test (within the last 4 Years) and a volunteer application on file before beginning any volunteer work. If you are not sure your TB test is current, please contact the front office. Volunteers Needed: The school is in need of a Gardening Coordinator(K-3) and a Landscaper Architect (to design a shade garden). Please contact Ms. Holland if you are interested in either position. Pizza/Taco Lunches: Taco lunches will begin on August 25th and Pizza lunches will start on Friday, August 28th. grade fundraiser ? We would like to start raising money for the 8th grade
