Thank you to the PAB!
For donating a LCD projector and screen to the school and annual subscriptions to Enchanted Learning and Reading A to Z to the kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms.

Taco Tuesdays:
4th through 8th grade students will not be served hot sauce for the remainder of the semester.

Athletic Equipment Needed:
Cleaning out the garage or the overflowing hall closet and don’t know what to do with all those unused soccer balls, hula hoops, and footballs? Donate your gently used items to the Heritage K8 playground! Please drop off donations in the front office. We gladly accept new items too!

Student Pictures:
Your students’ pictures were distributed today, but the class picture is not included. It will be distributed at a later date.

ECHS Girls’ Volleyball Team:
You’re invited to come out and support the ECHS White Tiger 2008-2009 undefeated Girls’ Volleyball Team play their last league game on Monday, October 27. The game will take place in the ECHS gym and starts at 5PM. Fans are advised to arrive 30 minutes early to watch warm ups and team rituals.

Spaghetti Dinner:
Support the ECHS Girl's Volleyball team by participating in this year's spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Tuesday, October 28, from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Student Union. The cost is $10 per person and $35 per family (5 max). Advanced tickets can be purchased in the Heritage front office or by calling Laura Geist at 619-885-6552(c) 760-781-3379(h).

ASB Election Results:
Congratulations to our President, Caleb Holliday; Vice President, Jerry Tegno; Treasurer, Steven Coe; Secretary, Jonathan Currie; 8th grade Representatives, Amanda Sisco and Makayla Claywell; and 7th grade Representatives, Joseph Holliday and Madison Mitchell. The first ASB meeting is scheduled for Wed., October 29, 2:45PM-3:45PM in Mrs. Farran’s Office.

Reminders:
(1) Students are allowed to carry only round-tipped scissors in their backpacks.
(2) Students must obtain a pink readmit slip from the front office after an absence.

Halloween:
In order to avoid creating distractions to the learning environment, students are not permitted to wear costumes on campus. Students who dress up or wear costumes will be considered in violation of the dress code.

Perfect Attendance Awards:
All students can earn a “Free Dress Day Pass” by having perfect attendance for the month of October. Perfect Attendance means you must be in school every day and not be tardy. All classes can earn “Free Ice Cream Snack” if their class has Perfect Attendance for the month of October. The Perfect Attendance Contest began Wednesday, October 1, and runs through Friday, October 31.

Middle School Girls’ Volleyball:
If you’re interested in participating in the Boys and Girls Club 6th-8th grade middle school girls’ volleyball program, please contact ECHS Girls’ Volleyball Coach, Jo Milo, at 760-580-4830.

YMCA Before & After School Programs:
Start date is eminent. Please call the YMCA for more information. 760-745-7490

On The Border Fundraiser:
Supporting the Heritage 7th & 8th Grade Civil War Day never tasted so good! Dine in or take out at the On The Border Restaurant at Westfield North County on Sunday, November 2, from 11AM to 10PM, and they will donate 20% of all the proceeds to Heritage Civil War Day. You must present a flyer, which you can pick up in the front office.

Heritage Fall Book Fair Safari:
The annual Book Fair will take place in the Heritage Library from November 12 - November 20. Volunteers are needed for decorating (safari theme) on November 10 and break down and clean up on November 21 as well as volunteers to work at the book fair from the 12th to the 20th. Please contact Claudine Rumbawa at 760-739-9102 or crumbawa@cox.net if you can help. A planning meeting is scheduled in the Library on Tuesday, October 28, at 3PM.

Attention Crafters/Vendors:
The 1st Annual Heritage Holiday Gift Faire will be held Thursday, December 4, from 5-8PM in the Multi-Purpose Room. Proceeds will benefit the Heritage classroom libraries. Please contact Marcy Colwell at 760-471-2547 or sparklegal@cox.net for more information.
