Heritage Notes

MINIMUM DAY:
Thurs., Sept. 25 - students dismissed at 12:30PM, must be picked up by 1:00PM.

Rubio’s Fundraiser:
Take advantage of our half day on the 25th and take the kids to lunch on the way home from school. Rubio’s Mexican Grill is right down the street on E. Valley Pkwy, and Heritage will benefit from each purchase made with a flyer between the hours of 12-3PM. Additional flyers are available in the front office.

Electronic Homework:
Homework assignments, for grades 3-8, are now available on our web site at heritagek8.org. Just click on Electronic Homework and then click on the date you wish to see.

Going Green:
Beginning in October we will no longer be sending the Heritage Notes home with our students. Notes will be on our website, and copies will be available in the office.

Policy Change:
Please note the following changes we have made to the Student Dress Code/Uniform Guidelines and Student Handbook.
Shoes - Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals are not allowed. Both shoes must be the same, part of a pair. Both shoelaces must be matching, part of a pair. Socks—both socks must be matching, part of a pair. Shirts with Plaid attire– Previously, girls were only allowed to wear white shirts with plaid skirts, skorts, or jumpers. We have now revised this guideline and the girls may wear any color uniform shirt with the plaid clothing.

TACO TUESDAYS & PIZZA FRIDAYS!
A $3.00 meal includes 1 taco, a drink, fruit or a fruit cup, and a treat. $1.00 more for each additional taco OR a slice of pizza, a salad, and a drink. $1.00 more for each additional slice of pizza. CASH only! The PAB is recruiting volunteers to occasionally help serve these fun lunches. If you have a few hours to spare, please contact Misty Sherman at 760-803-8478.

Fun for Parents:
The Round Up will be here before you know it, do not be left out. This is a fun filled, better-than-ever, upscale, dancing included evening that will help out your student as well. This ECHS PAB sponsored event provides the funding for scholarships, the Christmas Dinner/Dance, Grad Night festivities and the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. We need you!!! Tickets will now be for sale in the ECHS office. Look for ticket sellers after school and at football games. We can take cash, checks and even Visa/MC. See you there: ECHS on Saturday, September 27th from 5-8:30 P.M. The tickets are $40 each. For more information or to order tickets, contact Dana Staebell at 839-3450 or madstaebell@cox.net.

Piano Club:
Mrs. Dawson’s Piano Club will begin Monday, September 29th. For more information, call Mrs. Dawson at (760)480-9521 or pick up a flyer in the Main Office.

Perfect Attendance Awards:
All students can earn a “Free Dress Day Pass” by having perfect attendance for the month of September. Perfect Attendance means you must be in school every day and not be tardy. All classes can earn “Free Ice Cream Snack” if their class has Perfect Attendance for the month of September. The Perfect Attendance Contest begins on Tuesday, September 2nd and runs through Tuesday, September 30th.

Heritage K-8 Yearbook:
Well, the new school year is off to a great start! The yearbook staff would like to remind all parents and teachers to take lots of pictures of your children’s classes and events. Please submit your pictures on CD to the front office or email photo links to heritageyearbook@cox.net.

Volunteers Needed:
The Heritage Yearbook is looking for volunteers to help create this year’s edition. We will need at least two parent volunteers and as many middle -schoolers as would like to participate to work on the middle school pages this year. We will also need parent volunteers to prepare the class candids pages for K-6. A meeting to train on the computer software will be announced in the coming weeks.
