TACO TUESDAYS RETURN!
Taco Tuesday returns Sept. 9. A $3.00 meal includes 1 taco, a drink, fruit
or a fruit cup, and a treat. $1.00 more for each additional taco. CASH
only! The PAB is recruiting volunteers to occasionally help serve these
fun lunches. If you have a few hours to spare, please contact Misty Sherman
at 760-803-8478.
Lego League:
Parent/mentor orientation meeting for 4th-8th grade students will be held
Monday, Sept. 8th, in Team Room 108. The LEGOS have arrived for 4th, 5th,
and 6th graders. The first meeting for the 4th-6th grade after school
program will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10th, in the Team Room 108. Tech
Challenge for 7th and 8th graders has been delayed. For more information

Patriot Day Assembly:
Family and friends are invited to commemorate Patriot Day with our students
on Thursday, Sept. 11th, at 8:00AM in the MultiPurpose Room. Heritage
Charter School will be presented with a United States flag that was flown
over the 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company Command Post located aboard
Camp Ripper, Iraq on July 11, 2008 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Please
join us for this special event.
Progress Reports:
The first grading period of the year ends September 12. Progress reports
will be distributed the following week.
Round Up the Funds:
Means ‘round up’ the fun. Come have a wonderful dinner under
the stars and give back to the school that is doing so much for our students
and future students. Tickets will now be for sale in the ECHS office beginning
Friday, September 5th and at the Football game this Saturday, September
6th. Also, come by our booth at Grape Day Park this Saturday, September
6th, and check out the cruise raffle details. The Round Up will be held
at Escondido Charter High School on Saturday, September 27th from 5-8:30
PM. The Round Up is a fundraiser sponsored by the ECHS PAB. The tickets
are $40 each. For more information, call Dana Staebell at 839-3450.
Piano Club:
Mrs. Dawson’s Piano Club will begin Monday, September 29th. Classes
will be held Monday-Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., upstairs in
Building 1875. The cost is $12 a lesson, and Mrs. Dawson contributes a
percentage of the proceeds to the American Heritage Education Foundation.

Perfect Attendance Awards:
All students can earn a “Free Dress Day Pass” by having perfect
attendance for the month of September. Perfect Attendance means you must
be in school every day and not be tardy. All classes can earn “Free
Ice Cream Snack” if their class has Perfect Attendance for the month
of September. The Perfect Attendance Contest begins on Tuesday, September
2nd and runs through Tuesday, September 30th.
PIZZA FRIDAY!
Remember...if it’s Friday, you don’t need to pack a lunch!
A $3.00 meal includes I slice of pizza, a salad, and a drink. $1.00 more
for each additional slice of pizza.
Magazine Fundraiser:
Buy a magazine or two and help the 8th graders go to Catalina.

Otter Pop Sales:
The Parent Advisory Board has begun selling Otter Pops after school. Otter
Pops sell for 25 cents each.
Volunteer Needed:
Do you or do you know someone fluent in sign language? We are looking
for a volunteer to provide monthly or occasional interpretation for one
of our parents. Please contact Ms. Holland for more information. 760-747-3111,
