2nd Annual Community Clean Up Day:
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 10th, we will be cleaning up our campus and some
of the surrounding buildings. The newly-revised hours to participate in
this Core Virtue activity are 9:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Pizza and refreshments
will be provided shortly thereafter. We have at least 6 teachers who have
volunteered to help out and we need parents and kids. (Parents do receive
credit toward their volunteer hours) All students that participate in
the full cleanup will receive free dress day on Tuesday, May 13th. Students
must sign in at the clean up, and wear a “Free Dress Pass”
badge on Free Dress Day. Please stop by the office on the morning on May
13th to pick up your free dress pass.
Jump Rope Field Day:
There will be a Jump Rope Field Day on Monday, May 12th from 1-2:20 p.m.,
out on the blacktop. Students in grades 1st-5th will be participating.
Students will compete to see who can complete the most jump rope skills.
Please encourage your child to bring their own jump rope to school on
this day. Parents are welcome to attend.
Email Homework:
We no longer have email homework (grades 3-8). To view your student’s
homework nightly, please see the HK8 Electronic Homework file located
on our school web site heritagek8.org.
Summer Camp:
The show must go on! Last chance to sign up for the Summer Production
Camp (June 2-13th). The camp requires a minimum of 10 students and we
currently have 8. If you are considering enrolling, please contact Tammy
immediately at tlckidsmom@yahoo.com
Yearbook:
The Yearbook Staff would like to thank everyone who participated in providing
photos for the yearbook. We are now looking ahead to next year’s
yearbook. We are currently gathering photos of Family Fun Night while
it is still fresh in everyone’s mind. If you took pictures of Family
Fun Night, we would like you to bring them to the front office on a CD
or email photos to heritageyearbook@cox.net.
Two for one Book Fair:
As a “Thank You” to Heritage families and to kick off Summer
Reading, there will be a Scholastic “Two Books for the Price of
One” Book Fair. This mini book fair will be held during lunch and
after school, May 14-16th. If you’d like to help, please call Jami
Baar at (760)489-7175.
Box Tops:
Please turn in your completed box top sheets to the office by Thursday,
May 22nd. You can collect box tops over the summer and turn in completed
sheets for prizes when school begins in August. Beginning with the new
school year, your level of prizes will begin over at the first level.
If you have turned in any box tops this year that have not earned redemption
coupons yet, you will get credit for those box tops in August. Thanks
for all you work in collecting the box tops. Something as little as box
tops can earn your school big money.
Campbell’s Soup Labels:
We are getting ready to mail in our Campbell Soup Labels. If you have
any at home, please get them to the office by May 16th, so we may turn
them in before the deadline.
8th Grade Parents:
The Escondido Charter High School Parent Advisory Board welcomes the incoming
freshman and their parents for the 2008-2009 school year. We are now looking
toward next year and asking the incoming parents to join us as freshman
representatives. The work is fun and rewarding. If you are an outgoing
person who likes to be involved, it is an excellent opportunity to be
a greater part of your child’s education and to learn more about
ECHS. We work closely with the staff and administration to further the
positive experience your child is receiving at ECHS. There is opportunity
for anyone who would desire to be a part of this support team. For more
information please call or email Frank Rumbawa at (760)739-9102 or frumbawa@epicor.com
or Dana Staebell, at (760) 839-3450 or madstaebell@cox.net
