Minimum Day:
Mark your calendar, Wednesday, April 30th is the next scheduled minimum
day.
Students are released from school at 12:30 p.m. All students must be picked
up by 1 p.m.
Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill Fundraiser from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
on this day.
Drop Off:
Students are not to walk on to or to be dropped off on the Heritage K-8
campus before 7:30 a.m. in the morning. The school does not have staff
to watch the students until 7:30 a.m. Please do your part in helping to
keep our students safe.
Exiting Campus:
Parents, when leaving the campus in the morning and afternoon, please
do not turn left from our driveway onto East Valley Parkway. Turning left
is an illegal turn and very dangerous.
2nd Annual Community Clean Up Day:
On Saturday, May 10th, we will be cleaning up our campus and some of the
surrounding buildings. The newly revised hours to participate in this
Core Virtue activity are 9:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Pizza and refreshments
will be provided shortly thereafter. We have at least 6 teachers who have
volunteered to help out and we need parents and kids. (Parents do receive
credit toward their volunteer hours) All students that participate in
the full cleanup will receive free dress day on Tuesday, May 13th. Students
must sign in at the clean up, and wear a “Free Dress Pass”
badge on Free Dress Day.
Library News:
The last day to check out books for the 2007/2008 school year will be
Friday, May 2nd. All books must be returned by May 16th. Please remember
in order to receive your child’s report card, all books must be
returned or paid for.
Two for one Book Fair:
As a “Thank You” to Heritage families and to kick off Summer
Reading, there will be a Scholastic “Two Books for the Price of
One” Book Fair. This mini book fair will be held during lunch and
after school, May 14-16th. If you’d like to help, please call Jami

Cartridges for Kids:
There are only a couple more days to participate in this recycling contest.
The contest will end on April 30th. The class that collects the most qualifying
items will win a $50.00 check. Qualifying recycling items are Videos Games
w/case, empty inkjet or laser cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras,
laptops including power cords, PDAs/Palm Pilots, ipods, and DVD Movies
including original packaging. Currently, Ms. Rochon’s class is still
in the lead, followed by Mrs. Kajita’s class and then Mrs. Curley’s
class and Miss Lavage’s class.
Family Fun Night:
May 2nd is Family Fun Night. Volunteers are still needed for class booths,
the snack booth, and inflatable jumps. We also need to borrow EZ-ups,
ice chests and crock pots for the evening. Please be sure to put your
last name on them so they can be returned. If you can help, please contact

Campbell’s Soup Labels:
We are getting ready to mail in our Campbell Soup Labels. If you have
any at home, please get them to the office by May 16th, so we may turn
them in before the deadline.
Heritage Scrapbook:
Do you like to scrapbook? The school is looking for a few people that
would like to put together a Heritage K-8 Charter School Scrapbook. If
this is you, please contact the front office.
Spaghetti Dinner;
Support the ECHS Girl’s Softball team by participating in this year’s
spaghetti dinner/fundraiser on Friday, May 9th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30
p.m., in the Student Union. The cost is $10 per person and $30 per family.
Following the dinner there will be a PAB sponsored movie night on the
soccer field. Tickets can be purchased from Laura Geist at (619)885-6552
