Heritage K-8 Charter School
Core Virtue:
“Sweet mercy is nobility’s true badge.”
William Shakespeare
Cartridges for Kids:
As we celebrate Earth Day in April, we will be having a recycling contest.
The class that collects the most qualifying items will win a $50.00 check.
The contest begins on April 1st and ends on April 30th. Qualifying recycling
items are Videos Games w/case, empty inkjet or laser cartridges, used
cell phones, digital cameras, laptops including power cords, PDAs/Palm
Pilots, ipods, and DVD Movies including original packaging.
Parent meeting:
There will be an All Parent Meeting on April 3rd, 2008 at 7 p.m. The meeting
will be held in the American Spirit Theater at the high school. Please
plan on attending this meeting so that you may learn of all the activities
that are schedule for the last two months of the school year. Each family
can earn one volunteer hour for attending the meeting.
Medical Appointments:
Regular attendance is essential to student learning, and any absences
should be avoided if at all possible. Parents should try to schedule all
medical appointments after school hours. When a student leaves early for
the day, this can be disruptive not only to the student that is leaving,
but to the whole classroom. Your consideration in making appointments
after school hours whenever possible is most appreciated.
Leaving Early for the Day:
We request that no student leave early for the day unless absolutely necessary.
If you must pull your student early from school, please arrive in the
office a minimum of ten minutes before you need to leave. Often times
students are in the library, P.E., music … and must go back to their
classroom to retrieve their things. No student is allowed to wait in the
office for their parents to pick them up. Students will only be called
once their parent has arrived in the front office.
Heritage K-8 Auction and Dinner Rescheduled:
The Heritage K-8 Auction and Dinner has been cancelled for April 4th.
The Auction will now take place during Family Fun Night on the evening
of May 2nd.
Class baskets, a Sony laptop, and other great items will be up for auction.
If your family would like to donate vacation rentals, timeshares, or other
business services, it’s not late. Contact Shellie Bobadilla at 4HeritageAuction@gmail.com
ECHS Football:
Any 8th grade student who would like to play football for the ECHS White
Tigers in 2008 need to bring their parents and attend the important football
informational meeting on Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.,
in the American Spirit Theatre at the high school. We will discuss all
the important details for the upcoming football season. If you have any
questions, please contact Coach Brose at (760)737-3154, ext. 148. Go White
Tigers!!!
Lunches:
Please remember we do not carry money in the front office to make change
or vouchers for lunch money. Pizza and Taco lunches must be paid for at
time of purchase, we do not have credit.
Please keep in mind when packing your student’s lunches, that we
do not have refrigerators or microwaves available for the students. Unfortunately,
we do not provide spoons, forks, straws or napkins. In addition, the office
also serves as our sick bay. We ask that you do not bring your student’s
lunch to the office to be picked up. On a rare occasion when your child
forgets their lunch, you may bring their lunch to the office and we will
do our best to get it to them. NO hot lunches (Taco Bell, Burger King…..)
of any type can be accepted.
Sick/Homework Policy:
If your child is “too sick” to come to school, please keep
them at home and know that they will have time to make up their work when
they return to school. When the student returns to school they will be
given one day for each day absent in order to make up their missing work.
Yearbooks:
Heritage K-8 Yearbooks are available to purchase until April 18, 2008.
Order forms in office. Cost $15.
