Health Week:
Health Week is coming! February 11th-15th will be our first annual Health
Week here at Heritage. Health week will promote fitness, and sun safety.
On Monday, February 11th we will start selling speed jump ropes and adjustable
cotton navy blue visors. The cost of these items will be one dollar and
available as long as supplies last. These navy blue visors along with
the school logo baseball hats will be the only uniform approved headwear
allowed. In addition, during the week there will be a “visor/hat”
day in which students who are caught wearing one outside will receive
a prize.
FUN-ZONE:
Come to the Fun-Zone being sponsored by ECHS Softball Team on Friday,
February 15th, from 4- 9 p.m., at the ECHS Gymnasium and Theater. The
event is for students in grades K-6th. The cost is $25 when signing up
before February 10th and $30 thereafter. Be ready for an action packed
night of fun, food, games , movies, face painting and other fun activities.
Flyers can be picked up at Heritage K-8 or ECHS front offices.
Yearbook:
The Yearbook Committee is always looking for candid shots of all class
activities. If you have photo CDs to submit, please categorize the photos
in folders by class and activity on the CDs. We can use your non-digital
photos; however we’d appreciate if you’d scan them into the
computer and put them on a CD. If you don’t have a scanner or computer
available we do understand. Beginning with our next meeting we could really
use volunteers to work in Microsoft Publisher and begin importing the
photos that have been submitted. Our next meeting will be February 12th

Music:
If you have a musical instrument at home that was given to you by the
Heritage Music Department, and you are not currently in band, please return
the instrument to the school office as soon as possible so that other
students may use it for band. Thank you.
Cookies & Milk:
The 4th grade class will be selling cookies and milk for $1.00 on Fridays
after school until March 28th. If you would like to help sell, or donate
cookies or milk, please call Christy at 533-1453.
Wanted Items:
The Escondido Charter School District would like to have a grand piano.
Do you know of someone that would like to donate one to the school? Please
contact the office with any information you have. The Piano Club is need
of electronic keyboards. If you wish to donate one, please contact Pam
Dawson at (760) 480-9521. Heritage is also in need of some cheese or peanut
butter and crackers, some juice boxes or small water bottles, plastic
spoons and sandwich size ziplock bags. Please bring your donations to
the front office. Thank you.
Lottery 2008:
If you have a sibling that is not enrolled at Heritage K-8 and you would
like them to attend, you must sign them up for the lottery. When signing
your student up for the lottery, you must indicate on the form that they
are a sibling. Questions? Please contact Judy Brooks at (760) 737-3154.
Cut off date to sign up for Heritage K-8 lottery has been extended. The
deadline to sign up is the close of business on: Thursday, March 6th.
Recycling Program:
Help the earth and Heritage too! Mr. Goldstein has graciously offered
to start a recycling program here at school and the proceeds will go back
to Heritage. We need a donation of at least four 20 gallon size trash
cans with lids to get the program up and running. If you have any questions
