Holiday:
On Monday, January 21st, there will be no school in honor of Martin Luther
King Day.
Minimum Day:
On Wednesday, January 30th, students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m.,
and must be picked up from school by 1 p.m. There will be a Rubio’s
Fundraiser from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on this day. Watch for a flyer
to be coming home. The flyer is required at Rubio’s in order for
the school to receive
credit.
Cookies & Milk:
The 4th grade class is have a fundraiser to raise money for an overnight
field trip at the Star of India. They will be selling cookies and milk
for $1.00 on Fridays after school. They began selling today and will continue
to sell on Fridays until March 28th. If you would like to help sell, or
donate cookies or milk please call Christy at 533-1453.
Yearbook:
The Yearbook Committee will be meeting on January 22nd at 7 p.m. in Room
207.
The committee will welcome any additional volunteers who would want to
help layout photos on the pages in Power Point. We also need lots of pictures
from the different classes so please keep those pictures coming in. If
you would like any further information, please contact Cynthia Diaz at

Attention Middle School Students:
Are you interested in helping put together this year’s Yearbook?
We will be having our first student yearbook committee meeting on January
23rd from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 207.
If you are interested please contact Annette Morton at 749-7358 with your
name, your parent’s contact name, phone number and email address.

Do you get email homework (Grades 3-8)? Do you get your Heritage Notes
emailed to you? If you would like to receive these items via email, please
email Mrs. Megna at lmegna@echs.org with your request and email address.
If you have changed your email address, please email her with your current
information.
Wanted Items:
The Escondido Charter School District would like to have a grand piano.
Do you know of someone that would like to donate one to the school? Please
contact the office with any information you have. The Piano Club is need
of electronic keyboards. If you wish to donate one, please contact Pam
Dawson at (760) 480-9521. Heritage is also in need of some cheese or peanut
butter and crackers and some juice boxes or small water bottles. Please
bring your donations to the front office. Thank you.
Dress Code:
Remember the only sweatshirts allowed to be worn at school are solid navy
blue, black or white sweatshirts. Maroon and black sweatshirts with the
Heritage K-8 logo are also allowed. No other sweatshirts are part of our
school dress code. NO camp sweatshirts (Astro Camp, Catalina…) and
NO ECHS (football, basketball…). They are not part of the uniform
policy. Students in non-uniform sweatshirts and sweaters will have their
items taken away and parents will need to pick the items up at the front
office.
Lottery 2008:
If you have a sibling that is not enrolled at Heritage K-8 and you would
like them to attend, you must sign them up for the lottery. When signing
your student up for the lottery, you must indicate on the form that they

Cut off date to sign up for Heritage K-8 lottery is: Close of business
on: February 6th
Recycling Program:
Help the earth and Heritage too! Mr. Goldstein has graciously offered
to start a recycling program here at school and the proceeds will go back
to Heritage. We need a donation of at least four 20 gallon size trash
cans with lids to get the program up and running. If you have any questions
please contact Shelly Heyveld at Jheyveld@aol.com or Mr. Goldstein.
Middle School Dance:
All Middle School students are invited to an ASB New Year Dance Party
on Friday, January 25th. at 4:30m p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The dance will be
held in the Multipurpose Room. No advance purchase of tickets are required.
The cost is $2 at the door, which will include food. All students in attendance
must have a C or better GPA, with no D’s or F’s in any subject.
All student must follow the school dress code. Parent get your volunteer
hours in by chaperoning the dance. If you are interested in chaperoning
please call the front office.
