Heritage K-8 Charter School

Core Virtue:
“A man of courage flees forward in the midst of new things.”
Jacques Maritain

Thank you:
The office staff would like to say a “BIG thank you” to all the families that blessed us with all the great holiday thank you gifts. All gifts were very much appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, Jim Macdonald, Randy Harmon, Vicky Keyser and Leanne Megna

Mark your Calendar:
Holiday:

On Monday, January 21st, there will be no school in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

Minimum Day:
On Wednesday, January 30th, students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m., and must be picked up from school by 1 p.m.

Email:
Do you get email homework (Grades 3-8)? Do you get your Heritage Notes emailed to you? If you would like to receive these items via email, please email Mrs. Megna at lmegna@echs.org with your request and email address. If you have changed your email address, please email her with your current information.

Lunches:
Please keep in mind when packing your student’s lunches that we do not have refrigerators or microwaves available to our students, nor do we provide spoons and forks. Because the office also serves as our sick bay area we ask that you do not bring your student’s lunch to the office to be picked up. On a rare occasion when your child forgets their lunch, you may bring their lunch to the office and we will see that they get it. NO hot lunches (Taco Bell, Burger King…) will be accepted.

Wanted:
The Escondido Charter School District would like to have a grand piano. Do you know of someone that would like to donate one to the school? Please contact the office with any information you have.
Heritage is also in need of some cheese or peanut butter and crackers and some juice boxes. Please bring your donations to the front office. Thank you.

Dress Code:
Remember the only sweatshirts allowed to be worn at school are solid navy blue, black or white sweatshirts. Maroon and black sweatshirts with the Heritage K-8 logo are also allowed. No other sweatshirts are part of our school dress code. NO camp sweatshirts (Astro Camp, Catalina…) and NO ECHS (football, basketball…). They are not part of the uniform policy.

Heritage Giving Tree:
Thank you to all who donated socks to the Sock Tree. Our school donated to
Interfaith Community Services 201 pairs of socks to use for their homeless and needy patrons.

If you have a sibling that is not enrolled at Heritage K-8 or Escondido Charter High School but would like them to attend, you must sign them up for the sibling, you must indicate that, when signing your student up for the lottery.
