Host Families Needed:
Host families are needed for students from China for two weeks (January 28—February 11th). Students are both boys and girls, ranging in age from 12 to 17 years old. Plus, 1-2 adult chaperones. Students can be double placed if you prefer hosting two students. Students will be attending English classes Monday-Thursday mornings at Charter/Heritage, followed by half day activities (2-3 per week) and Fridays are full day excursions. Students can share a room with a host brother or sister. These students need host families right away in order to proceed with visa paper work. Please contact Mindy Thomason for more information, at (760) 745-1686 or MindyL121@aol.com

Piano Club:
There are still openings in the Thursday after-school key board classes. Hurry and enroll now. Learn basic keyboard techniques in a fun-filled atmosphere. Classes are held from 2:50 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room. Only $12.00 per lesson. For more information or to sign up, please contact Pam Dawson at (760) 480-9521.

Volunteer Opportunity:
We are in need of a parent volunteer to help with choir one afternoon a week from 2:40 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. If you would be interested in this position, please contact Mr. Macdonald.

Leaving School Early:
If at all possible, please make appointments after school, as not to interrupt the classroom. When taking a student out of school early or during the school day for an medical appointment, please plan ahead. School policy does not allow us to call students out of the classroom until their parents are physically in the office to sign them out. Please do not call the office while driving here and ask us to call your student out of class. Also, you will need to allow a minimum of 10 minutes for your student to collect their things and transport themselves to the office. Many times the students are in P.E., the library or at lunch and may have to return to the classroom for their things. If you send a note to the teacher (grades K-6) in the morning that your student will be leaving earlier, this will help the teacher be prepared to release your student with everything they need to take home with them for the day. Please be prepared to show your I.D. when picking up and signing out a student early for the day. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
