Core Virtue: “Wisdom is like the rain. Its source is limitless, but it comes down according to the season.” Mevlana Rumi

Minimum Days:
Next week, we have two minimum days scheduled, Tuesday, August 21st and Wednesday, August 22nd, for all students. Students will get out of school at 12:30 p.m. Gates will open at 12:40 p.m. Please have your students picked up by 1:00 p.m. There is no lunch period on minimum days, so please send your student to school with a nutritional snack on these days.

Back to School Night:
Please plan to come and see your child’s classroom and meet their teacher at the Parent Back to School Nights scheduled next week. Tuesday, August 21st will be the night for parent’s of students in grades K-4. Wednesday, August 22nd will be the night for parent’s of students in grades 5-8. Both evenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. This evening is for parents only.

Welcome Back BBQ:
No need to pack a lunch for school on Friday, August 24th, because Coach is providing a welcome back BBQ lunch for all students and staff. Please do send your student to school with a healthy snack for their recess/break time.

Off Campus Forms:
Students walking off campus, walking home, or waiting in front of the office after school must have an Off Campus Authorization Form on file in the front office prior to the day the student needs to walk off campus. These students will also be required to sign out each day in the office and leave from the front office door. Off Campus Authorization forms are available in the front office.

Volunteers:
Everyone, that plans on volunteering on campus in a volunteer job that has them working with children, must have a current volunteer application and a current TB test (results are good for 4 years) on file in the office before their volunteer job begins. Please remember to come through the office to sign in and sign out again when you leave. You may log your volunteer hours in the computer as you are leaving.

Emergency Gates:
Parents and students, please do not use the emergency gates, these are for emergencies only! If the school gates are closed, you must come through the front office for entry or exit.

Library:
The library has an immediate need for a regular Library Volunteer helper each Wednesday afternoon, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Can’t commit to each week? Have a friend split it with you or volunteer to be on our “sub” list. Contact: Jami Baar (760) 489-7175.

Lost and Found:
Missing a lunch box, sweater or other item? All lost and found items are put in Room 105. Please put your child’s name on all backpacks, lunch boxes, sweatshirts, jackets and uniforms. We will do our best to get lost items to a student if their name is on the lost item.

Tardy:
Every morning after the gates shut at 7:50 a.m. all students need to come through the front office in order to get into their classroom. Students will need to sign in and get a pink slip to admit them into class. All students will have a three unexcused tardy grace period, after that students that are tardy will have lunch detention each and every day they’re our tardy to school.

Medication:
When a student needs medication (over the counter or prescription) at school, the parent needs to bring the medication to the office in the original container and the medication must have a current expiration date.

Candy, Gum, Soda:
Just a reminder– NO Gum, NO Candy and NO soda allowed at school.

Pizza Fridays:
Pizza Fridays will begin in September. Please look for more information and dates in a future Heritage Notes.
