Heritage K-8 Charter School
"Education Is Our Business"
Heritage K-8 Physical Education Program
Physical Education is an important part of a student’s education.
Physical Education class is not only an opportunity for students to improve
coordination, strengthen muscles, and increase endurance, but also a time
to get outside, get some fresh air, and release some energy. This allows
students to better focus on material being presented in the classroom
as they learn the skills of reading, writing, mathematics, science and
social studies. In addition, physical activity improves an individual’s
health and well being, which enables students to enjoy and participate
in activities outside the school environment.
Two primary goals of the Heritage K-8 Physical Education Program are to
increase or improve the physical fitness of our students and to improve
the understanding and skills needed to participate in games taught in
Physical Education, e.g., volleyball, basketball, etc.
Depending on the grade level, Physical Education activities will be coordinated
by the classroom teacher or the Physical Education teacher.
