ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE INDEX (API)
Heritage K-8 Charter School earned a 2009 growth API of 897, a 26-point
gain from its 2008 Base API of 871. In addition, Heritage K-8 met all
17 growth criteria under the federal No Child Left Behind Act for 2009.
The Academic Performance Index is a number given to each school in California.
It ranges from 200 to 1000 and is calculated from the results on statewide
tests. The state has set 800 as the API target for schools to meet.
STATE AND SIMILAR SCHOOLS RANKING
Heritage K-8’s most current Similar Schools Ranking is nine. The
Similar Schools Ranking compares Heritage K-8 to 100 demographically
matched schools in California. The school’s most current Statewide
Ranking is nine, which means that Heritage K-8’s API is in the
top 20% of all elementary schools in the state. Updated rankings will
be released in May, 2010.
